The haftarah of Tetzaveh is taken from the writings of the prophet Ezekiel, Yehezkel, the 43rd chapter of his writings. The selection of the description of the Temple is parallel to the description of the Tabernacle, the Mishkan, in the Torah reading. The prophet describes the dimensions of the altar of the Temple in detail. The ceremony of the consecration of the altar is depicted. The process of the purification of the altar continued for seven days. From the eighth day onward, the priests would offer burnt offerings and offerings of well-being upon the altar.
